The new version of RIM developer tools and simulators for the company’s newest products—the Bold, the Storm, and the Pearl Flip—are now available. The BlackBerry Java Development Environment v4.7 can now be downloaded from the official BlackBerry website.
The Java package contains tools needed for developers to create applications for the Bold, the Pearl Flip, and the Storm. The new APIs included in the package represent the phones’ new features including touch screen support, accelerometer support, orientation and rotation support, camera and media integration, virtual control keyboard, and set homescreen background image. For the non-developers, it means they could play around the mentioned phones’ user interface. You won’t be able to access everything, but at least you’d be able to get a feel of the handsets before you buy them.
