The 5D Mark II is a nice camera for home use but if you are serious about video/film production even in the smallest way then it is no comparison to the Red camera systems.

Other than the "wobbly" video, iinability to use auto focus, difficulty in changing settings such as asa on the fly that comes with a camera and non pro sound (one of the most important aspects in a good system these days) not designed for dslr technology there is also the compression used by this camera that makes it difficult to get the footage color corrected etc...

Not that the 5d mark 11 is bad for those that just want something simple. The depth of field is great and image quality for home use great. Still the wobbliness in moving the camera and ergonomics even makes this mean a simple camcorder would produce better images. Maybe in a couple of years these camera systems will compete with Red but for now, there is no comparison.

Red camera Systems are made for shooting video. The quality is exceptional. Usability is at pro level and if pro video is your objective (even for webcasts) then the value of these systems surpasses anything the 5d mark 11 could hope to offer..
