You wont need 2 upgrade your soundcard for this. Coz it uses a usb instead of 3.5 jacks and the Maelstrom engine simulates the surround sound , so that means you dont need a soundcard for this even a crappy one will go

The problem is they seem to have the same headphones as the Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones, there is not enough depth inside the head phones for bigger ears. The constant pounding of weight on the ear lob make it near impossible to game with the head set on. These new ones look to have the same problem. The depth is better on the Steelsound 5Hv2, but I must say that the sound is better in the Barracuda. Just wish I could use the Razer drivers and the Steelsound cushioned head set. Hang on I just be able to do that. :-}
