Along with the Philips AJ301D model, the company also announced the Philips DC200 iPod clock radio. This one’s crafted with a more conventional look compared to the former. Unlike the AJ301D with dual alarms, the DC200 clock radio wakes you up more calmly with natural sounds such as bird chirps and similar.
There’s no way I’d be able to wake up to birds chirping (unless it’s a bird the size of a plane) but I reckon it’s the perfect option for light sleepers and people who get stressed out when they’re woken by traditional alarm. The model is built for some serious music-tripping with 20 FM presets, and a USB socket allowing you to listen to digital music straight from a USB memory device. The Philips DC200 iPod Clock radio which sells for AU$109.95 is compatible with all dock-connector iPods.
