PenCommander 2.1 for Tablet PC, Pocket PC, and smartphones has just been launched. PenCommander lets you expand the functions you can conjure with your pen or stylus; allowing you to easily launch frequently used applications, insert redundant text, and edit documents. It’s especially designed for the Windows platform.
To be able to execute a command, you need to input the command name on the PenCommander input panel. There are 50 predefined commands to execute on your will.
New features for the PenCommander 2.1 are the following:
- Supports Microsoft Windows Vista. To ensure full compatibly with Windows Vista PenCommander has passed certification testing and is Certified for Windows Vista
- Includes improved scripting engine with optimized performance and new user-level functions
- Includes new PenCommander UI skins
- Allows to select alternative handwriting recognition engine to recognize PenCommands
- Allows to assign PenCommands and keyboard shortcuts to single-stroke gestures.
- Allows to change transparency of the Input Panel window
- New Visual Studio 2005 like UI for Visual PenCommander
The PenOffice software, on the other hand, is a handwriting recognition technology which also adds pen-based applications.
The five most important new features of the PenOffice 3.0 Beta are:
- Fresh new UI look and feel, with the software entirely redesigned.
- Support for Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint markup.
- New PenOffice Configuration Manager, which allows users to create custom configurations for handwriting recognition functionality.
- New handwriting recognition engine with integrated statistical analyzer, auto-corrector and support for additional languages.
- New PenCommander scripting engine and Visual PenCommander IDE.
