Parrot Zikmu Wireless Speakers

zikmuThese elegant-looking speakers are called “Zikmu” from Parrot, designed by Philippe Starck. The speakers acquire quite the minimalistic yet elegant modern look. They stand 2.5 feet tall, and boast 360 degrees surround sound.

The Zikmu speakers were designed to be compatible with all the available iPod models, even the newest versions of the Nano and Touch, and the iPhone and iPhone 3G. The device can recharge your Apple devices while playing tracks and even lets you control your iPod or iPhone from afar through its remote control. Besides compatibility with media players, music can be streamed via WiFi or Bluetooth from a computer. The Parrot Zikmu speakers will be available on Spring 2009 for US$1,500.

MAXMEDIA Pty Ltd launched the Parrot Zikmu in Australia.

The Zikmu sold in Australia has a listed RRP of $1999 with a two year factory warranty, other regions, twelve months.

The new Colours are due in March/April and available in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

I saw the Parrot Zikmu on display in a store called Ordio in Westfield Bondi Junction. They are on level 5 on the Myer side. They had a black one on display for $1999, sounded amazing.

I ended up visiting their store and to be fair it’s a nice store, quite different from Harvey Norman etc…

didn’t buy on the spot cos I’m not sure…went back to a good friend of mine who is really into hifi stuff. he went to the store and said it’s my best option based on my budget. I forked out the money and now my cousin in WA wants one as well….LOL
