The Opera Mobile 9.5 is yet to be released publicly, although some handsets are reportedly rolling it out as their pre-installed browser. ZDNet’s The Mobile Gadgeteer gets to take the new version for a spin in an HTC device–the verdict: Opera Mobile 9.5 is hailed as the “new standard for web browsing on a mobile device.â€
According to the review, the Opera Mobile 9.5 browser has the following features:
- Offline web page saving
- Opera Zoom
- multiple tabbed browsing
- Flash Lite 3 support
- fast page loading
- finger scrolling and panning
In fact, the review even proclaimed the new Opera Mobile version as superior to iPhone’s Safari because text selection is enabled, you can copy and paste text, passwords are saved automatically, and you can send and save images from web sites just like in computer browsing. No pricing or availability details about the Opera Mobile 9.5 are known yet, but as a gauge, the current version sells for US$24.
