A source from the Finnish company Nokia divulged to CNET Australia a plan the company aims to undertake in the future. As a tie-in to the impending release of the next generation N-series phone, the Nokia N96, the world’s biggest mobile phone company is launching a video download store.
I don’t expect we’ll be hearing an official confirmation anytime soon, at least not until near the release date of the Nokia N96, and according to CNET, details are quite scant at the moment. What’s known for now is that there will be media partners to provide downloads which could include TV episodes of popular shows. Since there’s no DVB-H television service in Australia, this could help with the sales of the handset, especially since it’s DVB-H capable in countries which offer the service.
