Mobile phone giant Nokia announced seven new low-end mobile phones for emerging markets. These phones will be priced anywhere from AU$47 to $168 per unit and will be sold starting 2009. Aside from the phones, Nokia will also be officially launching two new applications including Mail on Ovi that lets users create email addresses using just their phones. The other is called Nokia Life Tools that can provide agricultural information to users.
The phone pictured on the left is the Nokia 7100 Supernova, the newest phone in the Supernova line complete with 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio and photo sharing feature. There’s also the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic which is touted as the brand’s most affordable music phone. The Nokia 2320 classic, Nokia 2323 classic and Nokia 2330 classic phones are basic handsets with integrated cameras and Internet browser. The Nokia 1661 is Nokia’s cheapest colored phone to date while Nokia 1202 was especially crafted for use in rural areas. It’s even equipped with a flashlight and boasts extended battery life and a phonebook that could be shared among five users.
