Nokia, which is already well-known for designing phones affordable for even consumers in the developing world, announced a price cut for some of its models. The move would definitely put further pressure on the company’s rivals which don’t even come close to Nokia’s 40% share in the mobile phone market.
The price cut comes just a bit after the announcement of the Nokia SuperNova phone range. Starting this August, Nokia will be offering phones for 10% lower their original prices. The phones included in the price cut are mostly media and music oriented phones, which means Nokia seems to be targeting the young demographic. Examples of phones which would be included in the price cut list are the Nokia 5610 and 5310 music phones, and the N81 8GB slider phone. Thanks, Nokia, I needed a new phone.
