The Nike + application for the iPod Touch and the iPhone built heaps of anticipation over the months people waited for its release. In fact, fake screenshots of the app even surfaced before, to the dismay of those who thought them to be real. Now the app is finally available on the second generation of the iPod Touch, it was reviewed by Gizmodo and got a rather mixed rating.
According to the review, the application itself worked “perfectly.” However, it failed to impress and ended up lacking in many aspects. The most important thing to note of would probably be that the app ONLY works for the second gen iPod Touch and does not support the first generation Touch or the iPhone and the iPhone 3G. So unless you intend to buy the device, you just have to wait until Apple releases an update that lets you install the Nike + app on your non-second gen Touch gadget, if ever. Other things to note of are the lack of graph support, custom workouts, and history among others.
