At the Sydney Motor Show 2008, Navman introduced four new GPS devices under the S-Series Platinum line—the S100, S150, S200, and S300t. They’re all very slim, metallic models that carry a new iPhone-like interface.
The new Navman S-Series Platinum models are all just 15mm thick with a backplate made of brushed metal and 4.3-inch touch screen. These new devices come preloaded with more detailed maps for junctions and highways. It even comes with pronunciation information to make it easier for the devices to understand spoken Australian street names. Aside from the four new models, S-Series Classic devices have been supplanted with the new S35 equipped with a 3.5-inch screen and the S45 with a 4.3-inch screen. Unlike the Platinum models, the Classic ones still use the old interface and housing, but they now support text-to-speech, spoken street name query, and are loaded with the newest Whereis maps. The new Classic models are already available in the market while the new S-Series Platinum models will be available in November with prices ranging from AU$429 to AU$699.
