After the RAZR, none of Motorola’s phones stood out enough to get a considerable chunk of the market share to be able to stand up to its competitors. The company even split in two to be able to address issues regarding dwindling sales.
Now Motorola is reportedly planning a new flagship product which could make or break them. If the product fails to capture public interest, it might be the end of good ol’ Moto. It’s called “Dark Project” because it’s supposed to be a well-guarded secret (not anymore, I guess). According to Boy Genius, the phone will most likely have an 8-megapixel camera, built-in NVIDIA chip for 3D graphics and video, UIQ “probably version 4.0 or higher” OS, and GPS. BGR guesses it could also sport touch screen interface (which it should, in my opinion, to be competitive). Release date is sometime around October for now, but nothing’s set in stone just yet. Based on the specs given above, do you think Motorola could take back a cut out of the mobile phone cake?
