More details leaked about Nokia’s new business phone, the E63, just indicates its imminent official announcement. The Nokia E63 will serve as the successor of the E71. The handset will run on Symbian S60 (more specifically, Symbian v9.1, S60 v3.1).
Like Nokia’s other enterprise phones, the E63 will sport a physical QWERTY keyboard and will support an HSDPA connection. Other specs include QVGA TFT display, 2 megapixel camera, expandable memory card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3.5mm jack. The Nokia E63 is slated to be more affordable that the E71, but unfortunately, the slash in price will come with a, er, price – the Nokia E63’s chassis will be made of plastic. That’s a downgrade from E71’s metallic look in my opinion, but it all depends on the user. The E63 will come in three iterations: E63-1 for Europe, the E63-2 camera-free phone for corporate (which I suspect what everyone outside the US and Europe will get), and E63-3 for the Unites States.
