Besides the Explorer and Explorer Mini Mice that come with Microsoft’s new BlueTrack technology, the company also introduced the new Arc Mouse. The Arc Mouse, however, uses the classic laser instead of BlueTrack.
Rather than focusing on technical specifications and the promotion of a new mouse technology, Microsoft admits that the Arc Mouse is a style-driven device. It’s actually in the shape of an, err, arc (or crescent), but the rear portion of the mouse folds underneath it for optimal portability. In spite of the hollow middle, Microsoft claims the mouse can handle up to 25 pounds of pressure. The Microsoft Arc Mouse runs on uses 2.4GHz wireless technology and is paired with a transceiver that snaps on the mouse’s bottom through the use of a magnet. It will ship with a carrying case for US$59.95 this September 2008.
