Come next year, global phone leader in the mobile phone industry, Nokia, will have a serious competitor in LG. LG’s tactic? Inundate the world with new phone models so if you don’t choose one LG phone, you’re bound to choose another.
According to source, LG has planned a 2009 roadmap that contains release of a whopping 125 new phone models. Not 12, not 25, but 125. Seriously. In fact, 24 of these 125 are already known to the public. But 125 phones mean LG’s bound to release around nine to ten phones per month starting January next year. I reckon by the end of year, nobody can remember what phone is which model number unless specifically groundbreaking. But to be fair, LG does have a point for pushing through with 125 new phones next year.
An interview with LG Mobile Global’s VP for Marketing Chang Ma revealed that some of the phones will be country and carrier specific. “We have to work with different operators in different countries, we don’t think it’s a big number,” the VP says. Still, guess blogs would be abound with new LG posts come next year.
