The T-Mobile G1 disappointed in terms of aesthetics although people are still excited about it due to the Google Android OS. The G1 will forever hold a special place in people’s hearts being the first to carry the Android platform ever, but as we go along, better-looking Android phones would sure pop up pushing the G1 to the back of our minds.
This one here is the Ophone (yes, we know, it’s one vowel different from THAT fruit handset), a device developed by Lenovo for China Mobile. And if you’re wondering, yes, Lenovo does make phones, although I don’t think those ever made it to the US or to Australia. The Ophone is a touch screen device China Mobile’s TD SCDMA standard, which is the telco’s version of the 3G connection. Too bad it won’t be released outside of China, we’d love to see more Android phones that look as good as this does.
