BlackBerry fans always tout their smartphone brand as reliable devices that could be depended upon for a long time to come. According to a recent study conducted by SquareTrade (a company that sells extra warranty for mobile phones) though, it’s not the BlackBerry that heads the pack when it comes to reliability but, believe it or not, the iPhone.
The study assessed the results based on 15,000 reports and found that while the Treo has an error rate of 16.2 percent after 12 months of use and the BlackBerry has 11.2 percent error rate, the iPhone displays an impressive 5.6 percent. In fact, while complaints about the iPhone 3G batteries are prevalent, it seems they cause less of a problem compared to the batteries used by the Treo and BlackBerry smartphones. What’s the highest percentage of iPhone deaths? Accident, of course. Users dropping their handsets or spilling liquids on them are sure-fire ways to get the Apple device to smartphone heaven.
