The claim of “720 degrees surround sound” came from the fact that the two 4W speakers are placed back to back. So that’s 360 degrees (surround sound) times two; clever eh?
The iLuv iSP100 speaker uses iLuv’s jAura Acoustic Speaker Technology that delivers not what we call “fake” surround sound, but instead makes the best out of small drivers. The device works for both iPhone 3G, first-gen iPhone, iPod and, through the 3.5mm jack, other types of MP3 players as well. Available by late September the iSP100 ships this late September for US$34.99.
