I say train because the number of handset manufacturers announcing their intent to come up with their own devices carrying the Google Android OS can only increase in time. After Samsung, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Hop-on, OpenMoko and any other we might have missed, comes Huawei.
Chinese manufacturer Huawei is a member of the Android Open Handset Alliance so an Android phone is a given. Whatever Huawei comes up with will be carrier specific and will be sold exclusively by telcos without Huawei’s branding. In Oz, Huawei-manufactured Android handsets might be seen on Vodafone seeing as the former already made a couple of low-end handsets for the latter. Aside from a Google Android handset, Huawei will also be releasing a Symbian smartphone. Both will be seen on the first half of 2009.
