HTC TyTN II 6.1 Performance Update Out Officially

For those who didnâ€™t feel safe updating their HTC TyTN II using an unofficial copy of the 6.1 performance update, you can now enjoy the features of Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 with the official release by HTC. The platform update lets you enjoy new features on the HTC handset.

These include threaded SMS, longer battery life, faster performance, and even an improved video performance, although as previously stated, Modaco claims that not much video improvement was seen. This release is meant for general Kaiser handsets; AT&T users of the Kaiser would have to wait for their branded update file. The HTC TyTN II performance update file is free to download from the HTC e-Club web page.

Based on feedback from the XDA Developers forum, this ROM is not particularly wonderful and still contains bugs.

If you want to upgrade your device to improve stability and functionality, I would suggest using a cooked Kaiser ROM from the very accomplished and knowledgable chefs on the XDA Developers forum - highly recommended.

@MR Gadget - No such luck. You register for e-club and as soon as you log in you get “To access HTC’s device upgrades, drivers and hotfixes, please head over to our Support section. HTC e-Club is focused on providing the best value to our customers with quality ringtones, wallpapers (coming soon) and other goodies.”
The 6.1 AUS upgrade dosen’t appear to be available yet.

@KingHavok - as posted previously…don’t even bother. The update is widely acknowledged to have very little benefit. There are plenty of far better “upgrades” available at XDA Developers if you want performance or functionality improvements.
