@Staggerlee - this was also a problem with the Tytn II (Kaiser) and could be easily fixed, along with a bunch of other irritating glitches, with a simple program called KaiserTweak. I imagine the Diamond will receive similar treatment once it goes mainstream.

@Mr.Gadget - the article reads "runs on Windows Mobile 3.1" Shouldn't that be 6.1?

@Staggerlee thanks for your feedback. I thought that the battery would struggle especially since it's a lower capacity due to the size of the device. Guess it's one of the prices you pay...

Just replaced my Touch (found it in my pocket hanging on the clothes line, still works except for on/off button!)with the Diamond.
Very nice with a superb screen (as good as ipod touch) with the latest Windows Mobile.
I chose it over the iphone because I need the PDA/phone function more than a media player.
Downside-
It's a bit of a battery hog. Heavy users may need a spare battery/charger to get through the day. The other result of this is the screen turns off frequently to save power when using the phone. This makes using the calendar during a call a pain especially if you prefer to use the transcriber. It will turn off halfway through a word requiring constant pushing of buttons to reactivate the screen. I called HTC who said it can't be changed. I suspect 90% of users will complain about this so it should be fixed in the next firmware release.
Conclusion-
Best phone at any price for my needs 8.5/10

Open release for public is around October / November. Should I trade in my Cruise for the Diamond or not? That is the question.

Once I finish hacking my Cruise, I may not even need to upgrade to a Diamond. :)
