Yep, folks, HTC officially announced the HTC Touch Diamond in Sydney today. However, you can actually buy one in stores sometime between the end of July and the beginning of August.
The HTC Touch Diamond will be exclusive to Telstra and can be availed for the price of AU$999, although with a 24-month plan of AU$80 monthly, it’s yours with no upfront costs. Don’t be misled by Telstra’s 7.2Mbps upload and 3.2Mbps download network speed advertisements; real average speeds will be somewhere in the alley of 3Mbps.
HTC Touch Diamond runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and will feature the new TouchFLO 3D user interface. It sports a 2.8-inch VGA display, 3.2-megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 4GB flash memory. The integrated GPS will also reportedly be used for Telstra’s services including Foxtel mobile TV and Sensis.
