The very first Google Android device is yet to be released, and even now, although we know it to be the HTC Dream, details are still cloaked in secrecy. Nevertheless, with this announcement, we’re hopeful that the launch of the first Google Android phone will be right on track; that is sometime later this year.
Google has just announced the Android Market, a feature similar to the Apple App Store, where developers can up their works for download and purchase by Google Android handset users. According to the Android blog, users would be able to rate the apps in the market. When the Android Market first opens, only free applications will be available first. Apps for sale will follow later when Google Android team furthers the development of the market interface.
