Google’s expanding Gmail’s features by adding a bit of VoIP functionality to it. Whereas heretofore, you can only use Gchat to, well, chat; in the coming weeks, you’ll be able to use it just like how you can use Skype, for example.
The video and voice chat is all available within the Gmail interface like the original Gchat. You’d have to download and install a plug-in to be able to use it, but I suspect it’s nothing space consuming. The voice and video chat function will roll out globally within a few weeks’ time and can be used with both Macs and PCs.
