We’ve been expecting the comparison to happen sooner or later. The BlackBerry Bold hasn’t been released yet, but the anticipation’s so huge, it’s hard to ignore it. Hailed by many as that one BlackBerry fans have been waiting for, it’s inevitable for the Bold to be compared to the ubiquitous Apple iPhone.
BGR was the first to have compared the two smartphones side by side. The BlackBerry Bold and the Apple iPhone 3G are pitted against each other not because they both have full-front touchscreen panels (like a comparison between the iPhone and XPERIA X1), but because of their similar status as groundbreaking devices. BGR’s review compared important specific details of both phones and not just the two of them as a whole. These areas of comparison include OS, build, email capabilities, browsing functionality, pricing, apps, screen, keyboard, battery life, and device longevity. They both have areas where they shine, and areas where further improvement could be made, but in the end, both devices have their own audiences. Those who vacillate on which to get will probably not be disappointed on whichever they choose to buy at the end.
