Our friends at Cnet.com.au have transcended the virtual boundaries yet again and triggered a physical sensation within me called “drooling” with their review of the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III. Part of it is due to the fact that there are some places in Australia selling the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III DSLR for half its RRP ($11,999) which makes it somewhat within out of my reach. Will need a little help from my wealthy friends and relatives of course…hint hint, wink wink.

The link shows the price of the 1dIII, which is still a very nice camera, but different to the 1dsIII.

I’m sorry, but you appear to be confused and likely to confuse others. The link to the vendor selling for “Half the RRP” is for the EOS 1D and *NOT* the 1Ds. The 1D is a completely different beast, only 10 MP. The same company is advertising the 1Ds for $10,499; abaout as cheap as you’ll find anywhere.

Hope this helps (and doesn’t disappoint too much.
