While the original SoundDock didn’t work with Apple’s ubiquitous products, Bose’s SoundDock II was made specifically FOR the iPod and the iPhone. The original iteration for Apple’s products is the SoundDock Portable and this one took design cues from it albeit with a bigger footprint.
The SoundDock II is the first certified “Works With iPhone” Bose SoundDock product. It’s around the same size as the original and seems to have retained what audio performance the original SoundDock was capable of. Aside from acting as an iPhone and iPod dock, SoundDock II has an auxiliary jack for other devices and has an infrared remote control system that lets you access your playlist from across the room. The device measures 17cm high X 30.5cm wide X 16.51cm deep. It’s available in glossy black from Bose Australia for a hefty price tag of AU$450.
