Sometime long ago, something akin to the RIM touchscreen BlackBerry Thunder would seem like a figment of the imagination or perhaps a piece of science fiction. I’ve known for a while that BlackBerry is planning for a touchscreen device, but the leaked details not so long ago excited me anyways.
Apparently, all the leaked information has its basis, as the Wall Street Journal is reporting about RIM’s touchscreen handset. It really will just be equipped with four main physical keys aside from the touchscreen interface. According to the WSJ report, the BlackBerry Thunder will be unveiled on the third quarter of 2008, meaning we’ll be seeing it by September at the latest. To borrow Neil Armstrong’s words, it’ll be “one small step for RIM, one giant leap for BlackBerry-kind.†I just wonder what’ll happen to the BlackBerry Bold once the Thunder comes out. It wasn’t even given a chance to shine as long as it can before the BlackBerry Thunder gets all the attention.
