After months of the usual repertoire of leaked pictures and information, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip (yep, that’s the official name) has now been officially announced. If it isn’t obvious or if, for some reason, you haven’t heard of it yet, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip is RIM’s first foray into the flip phone market.
The 3.6 ounce phone has a 240 x 320 internal LCD and a small external one to preview emails, incoming calls, and text messages. Some “premium” phone features include Speaker Independent Voice Recognition and Voice Activated Dialing. When it comes to imaging, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip has a 2 megapixel camera that could also capture videos. The handset’s music player has 11 preset filters and, regarding storage of music files, there’s an expandable memory card slot for up to 16GB cards. All we know about the BlackBerry Pearl Flip for now is that it’s coming to the USA on T-Mobile, no word on Australian release just yet.
