OK, so it’s still admittedly a rumor, so take this one with a humongous grain of salt. It’s going around that RIM’s first flip-type device, the much anticipated BlackBerry KickStart, will sell for US$49.99 with T-Mobile when it comes out.
Of course, that’s $49.99 with a 3-year contract, but it’s still a good deal, don’t you think? Based on what I’ve seen of the BlackBerry KickStart though, it doesn’t seem to be the prettiest phone on the planet. It’s quite thick and seems to lack that certain “oomph” factor, but really, for a low-cost phone, it might actually be good. RIM’s aiming for a September release of the KickStart, so everyone who wants a smartphone but doesn’t have a budget to pay for one upfront might be able to get their hands on one soon.
