The announced May release in the USA has finally come to pass, and now the BlackBerry Curve 8330 is available exclusively by Verizon Wireless. The BlackBerry Curve 8330 is a lightweight smartphone weighing a mere 4 ounces and measuring 4.2″ x 2.4″ x 0.6″. The smartphone’s small frame is complemented by a large 320 x 240 vibrant display.
A full QWERTY keyboard makes typing a lot easier, while navigation is controlled by RIM’s intuitive trackball navigation system. The smartphone has 3G capabilities using Verizon’s EV-DO network. As we’ve mentioned before, it’s equipped with a 2-megapixel camera, although there’s no mention of a GPS in Verizon’s official press release. Of course, the BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone was panned by CDMA critics, but I bet there are lots of Verizon customers who’d love to get their hands on one.
