As a follow-up to the successful AW1 wireless adapter, Audioengine released W2 or simply called the AW2 for iPods.AW2 connects to iPods directly via dock port (hence, only all docking iPods can be used with it) and draws power from the iPod through that connection as well.
The AW2 system is composed of two pieces then: the dock connection which serves as the transmitter and the receiver. The receiver is responsible for relaying the supposedly CD-quality music to the audio device you want to wirelessly connect your iPod to. The receiver, however, requires external power output and hence, would need to be within close proximity to a power source if used. The Audioengine W2 sells for a rather not-so-affordable US$169 in the United States.
