Details leaked earlier this year and officially launched by mid of April, Asus Eee PC 900’s mere announcement took the world by storm. Hong Kong and Taiwan saw the first units of the 8.9-inch still diminutive laptop, while the rest of the world continues to suit. Among the purported release dates we’ve seen before, Australia was rumoured to have had a late April or early May release date. Now, after an excruciating half a month later, we’re presented with the official details of Asus Eee PC 900’s Australian release.
It’s now confirmed that the Asus Eee PC 900 will be available in Australia this May, 2008. While both the 12GB XP version and the 20GB Linux version are reported to have the same price when first announced, the former’s MSRP is AU$599, while the latter’s is AU$649. The XP Version will be sold through selected retailers, while you can get the Linux version through computer resellers.
