As usual, an upcoming Apple event incites a slew of rumors and leaks in anticipation of what would be presented on the day itself. Apple sent out invitations to a “special event” to be held on October 14 with the announcement that it’s all going to be about notebooks.
The picture you see on the left is an alleged leaked image of a “Brick” MacBook case. “Brick” refers to a new manufacturing process to be employed on MacBook cases. The image was from a Chinese forum though, so take it with a big grain of salt. What interests me most among the rumors coming out though, is that Apple is supposedly releasing a US$800 MacBook. Considering the cheapest MacBooks are still at the four-figure range, if true, that will be great news for the not-so-affluent (that includes me). Don’t get your hopes too high up though—remember that time when we all thought a mini-MacBook would be announced but it turned out to be the Air instead? We’ll find out everything on the 14th, so hang on ’til then.
