After yesterday’s LG KC780 is another 8-megapixel phone from LG, the LG Renoir, that’s been making rounds in the tech circle recently. One of the newest contenders in the camera phone arena, LG is touting the Renoir as the first 8MP phone to boast touch screen display.
CNET tested the Renoir’s interface and found it very responsive and quite similar to LG Viewty, finger-friendly icons and all. A widget bar gives users easy access to apps from the start page while the web browser allows users to zoom in on pages and in between tabs. The 8MP camera itself can shoot up to ISO 1,600. It has all the trappings of a high megapixel camera including focus assist, xenon flash, smile and face detection, and even a beauty shot that gets rid of a face’s blemishes. The camera can also shoot video clips of up to 120 frames per second. The phone’s MP3 player features Dolby Mobile while the video player can handle DiVX files. As of now, the LG Renoir lacks a 3.5mm jack with its charging port doubling as a headphone port as well.
