Have you ever wondered how the face of the internet changed for the last seven years? I was already blogging during that time, but I didn’t even know the word “blog.” Back in 2001, the iconic iPod and youtube meant nothing and Mr. Gadget Australia didn’t even exist.
In celebration of their tenth year anniversary, the folks at Google worked with Internet Archive to collate the oldest cache of web pages possible. The farthest they could go back is 2001, which is a shame for all those who have been online longer than that, but isn’t so bad at all. So if you want to poke around to see how the internet looked like back in 2001, head on over to the Google 2001 search page, it’ll only be around for a month after all.
