Apple kept baiting us with news about the 3G iPhone’s availability worldwide but kept mum about the exact release dates that it was starting to drive me batty. Good thing Gizmodo gave us a lead, at least. When the opening keynote for the iPhone SDK conference in June was announced a while ago, people guessed that the 3G iPhone would be a major announcement. Now Gizmodo is backing this theory up.
A source allegedly confirmed that more than just formally presenting the 3G iPhone to the audience on June, the second-gen iPhone will already be available RIGHT AFTER the event. The report went on to say that the new iPhone will be available in Spain when electronics shop Telefonica opens. The rest of Europe will allegedly have similar launch dates. Let’s hope the 3G iPhones comes to the shores of Australia and Asia at the same timeline too. As an aside, it seems there’d be no fixed price point for the 3G iPhone, so you’d have to wait until it’s available to know of its price in the region.
