I’ve been expecting the 10-inch Asus Eee PC since January of 2008, but with the recent announcement of the Eee PC 901, I wasn’t expecting to see the 10-inch version anytime soon. Imagine my surprise when I caught wind that recent events suggest otherwise—the Asus Eee PC 1000 will be released soon; June soon, in fact.
Perhaps it was triggered by the entrance of the 10-inch MSI Wind into the market. Perhaps they’ve only just found out that the 10-inch Eee PC could come out in time. Regardless of Asus’s reasons, sources claim that the Asus Eee PC 1000 will be launched on June 3 along with the previously announced Eee PC 901. Aside from the two new models, Asustek is also reportedly preparing to release even more affordable variants of the current ones already in the market.
