Recently published reports on the mobile market suggest that more and more consumers today prefer converged devices to regular mobile phones. Customers are getting more tech-savvy and want a device that can do it all. To cater to this increased demand for versatility and functionality, O2 today has launched the new Xphone IIm Mobile Phone, the latest addition to the Xphone and Xphone II family of converged devices, which incorporates business tools and entertainment features into a Smartphone form factor.
Besides intuitive PDA features that turn the O2 Xphone IIm Mobile Phone into a mobile office, this new Smartphone is also a multimedia centre. Not only can it sync information with your PC to help you better manage schedules and workload, the O2 Xphone IIm also offers multimedia on demand with dedicated navigation buttons that give you one-touch access to immediate music and video playback.
Features of the O2 XPhone IIm Mobile Phone:
One-touch multimedia fun
With the latest Windows Media Player 10 built into the O2 Xphone IIm, you can quickly and easily access media files stored inside the device with a single touch of the dedicated soft keys located strategically below the 2.2-inch TFT-LCD screen. These comprise separate play/pause, rewind and forward buttons. A dedicated Internet Explorer hotkey further provides convenient, direct access to your favourite web page. You can set it to a music or video content site to download the latest tunes, trailers and games, which you can then store inside the O2 Xphone IIm’s 64MB of on-board memory, expandable with the insertion of a miniSD card. The O2 Xphone IIm supports a wide range of music file formats, including WAV, WMA, MP3, AMR and AAC. In addition, the microphone and loudspeaker offer crystal clear sound to support vivid MPEG-4 video playback, and 32-chord polyphonic, MP3, WAV and WMA ring tones.
Stay connected
Running on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphone edition operating system, and offering wireless modem, GPRS and Bluetooth connectivity, the O2 Xphone IIm works as hard as it plays. It lets you stay connected with the office at all times, like when you’re rushing to catch a flight to New York to close a deal. Besides making that phone call while boarding the plane, you can also check email with Microsoft Pocket Outlook or communicate last minute instructions to colleagues via MSN Messenger. The handy ActiveSync application further lets you synchronise email, calendar and contacts stored inside your laptop when you check into the hotel. You can now walk into that meeting with the confidence that you’re on top of the latest developments and hold the most up-to-date information.
Modern styling, contemporary looks
Designed to perfectly complement any young professional’s sartorial style, this Smartphone is dressed in the season’s hottest colours, and is proof that a device can have both beauty and brains. Rounded curves, a smooth, ceramic-white finish complemented by smart silver-grey accents and sleek, clean lines make the O2 Xphone IIm the perfect fashion accessory from the boardroom to the bar.
Convenience at your fingertips
It can be a hassle remembering what keys access which functions. Not so with the O2 Xphone IIm, which is designed to provide greater ease of use through the incorporation of dual-function keys into its schema. For example, a quick press of the “Home” button brings you back to your designated home page. A longer press of the same button turns off Bluetooth or GPRS. This efficient design ensures that the O2 Xphone IIm’s real estate is kept free of clutter, and there are fewer buttons for you to memorise. The Smartphone’s streamlined architecture is further augmented by a new application called O2 Menu, which provides users with a simple and intuitive icon panel to operate and makes most phone functions accessible within two clicks. The device’s overall form factor is therefore kept clean for a contemporary look and feel, making the O2 Xphone IIm small in size yet big on functionality.
