Let me preface this by saying I didn't purchase my XDAII from Mr Gadget (who provide a great service).

Anyone thinking of buying an XDAII (and with the range, functionality and price of other options now out there, you shouldn't) - DON'T! Mine was purchased in August 2004, has required one warranty repair, and now needs a new mainboard (out of warranty, and costing over $400!).

While the functionality is great, the reliability is terrible, and should regard other O2 products with a great deal of suspicion.

I previously used a Palm and mobile phone and found the Palm was never used because I did not carry it with me always. My wife got a SonyEricson P800 and found it invaluable so I thought I would try a PDA combined with a phone. The XDA2/iMate appeared to have all the features I needed, including tri-band phone and organiser, plus some really useful extras.

After 2 weeks I wish I had got it sooner. I have found it extremely useful, particulalry in meetings and out on the road. The move from Palm to Pocket PC was a breeze.

There are a few quircks that will take some getting used to and a couple of (minor) problems caused by 3rd party installed software, but overall it is a very good package that I would recommend to anyone who travels. As yet I really don't have any complaints.

Having never owned a PDA I was rather dubious of its usfulness. But now having owned my 02 XDA 2 for 2 months I don't know what I would do without it.
One great device combining my mobile phone as well.
I would recomend this to anyone that needs to convenience of a PDA and a mobile phone all in one device.

I have an Xda II and find the phone and organiser features very useful. My Xda II replaces my iPaq so navigation was easy as it is very similar. The phone, internet etc make mobile computing a breeze. I have now included a 512 Mb SD card, downloaded MP3 musice, DVD software (great for watching DVDs on planes) and just purchased a Navman 4410. It did take a little while to get use to only two fast buttons (vs 4 on the iPaq) but I find it OK now. The only issue I have had is that I keep bumping the recording button which seems to be clumsily located. The camera is good quality and I find the ability to link contact photos with my contact list invaluable when calls come through when I am on a land line.
If you are buying an organiser, do yourself a favour and replace both an organiser and mobile phone with an XdaII.
