The O2 Atom what a phone. Like the last post I would strongly advise you think twice before buying this phone. Since the 26th May 2006 a day has not gone past where i have not had a problem with the phone. First the phone would not connect with my Laptop, so I had it replaced. Then I upgrade the ROM to find an annoying High Pitched Noise being emitted from the Phone every time I turn the screen on. Easy way to solve it, Turn the screen off (very convenient with a PDA phone) To add to all this, the Customer service centre is in Singapore and English is not high on their mastered languages.

I am highly disappointed in this phone and unfortunately I am stuck with it for the next 24 months.

My Advice, Look for something else.

Not Happy. Not happy at all. This is a device for people who are unemployed maybe on holiday or even someone with papers on their desk and its a windy day.
Do not depend on this pda/phone/paperweight for anything important. I have been spoilt by knowing what is possible I have owned an O2 xda 2 Mini for a year which was shear bliss. When i was offered the chance to upgrade to an Atom I jumped at it. I should have jumped on it. A series of malfunctions and long waits for reboots , then someone said oh just update the ROM thats a comon thing with Atoms. So I did and for a moment a small moment i thought all would be functional. Nope still a shocker. Ever been waiting for that vital call to come through and when it does go to answer it and hang up in their face, thats just part of life when your the proud owner of an Atom, it doesnt even save the number that was calling so you cant riing them back from a land line to apologise. I have enquired to downgrade back to a xda 2 mini but they no longer make them. I hope the ATOM is biodegradable at least as there is a landfill site somewhere full of them. Please think twice before getting one i wish i did. Check review sites like this one I'm not alone with my thoughts on the Atom

This is my first combination phone/pda. Unfortunately, it is my third O2 in two weeks - the first one froze on the boot screen, the second just stopped and would not charge/operate/respond. I am hoping that the current one will allow me to appreciate the benefits of this unit. I would recommend that any prospective purchasers ask for a quarantee that if they are not satisfied with the product because of the problems I had with the first two, they can receive a refund or alternative product. Hardly Normal, where I got mine, have told me it would be up to O2.
If it beahves, I will give a better review later - here's hoping.
