Been using the Z9i since last friday....while size is the same as the Z9, the new functionality of the Z9i is a great improvement....would rate the ability to connect two phones at once .... as FANTASTIC!!!... main unit is an E71 but also carry another phone ....can now answer what ever phone rings with the Z9i as they can be both paired and active at the same time... not sure what happens if two calls come in at the same time... but that is probally when the conference/call waiting feature of the Z9i would be used ... so a big thumbs up for the new features ... and the smaller ear bud.... so would rate at 4.5

Six months on with the Z9....

about the 4 month mark the ear bud become unusable .... blue ant replaced under warranty and actually sent two ear buds - no dramas

always use the tie clip to secure the Z9 to shirt but over the last month or so the tension from the clip would not hold the Z9 to anything and would go flying ... once again contacted blueant -got an RA form and sent back ... to blueants credit sent monday 20th and received a brand new Z9i replacement back in post 24th.... so very happy with their service and hope the new Z9i's tie clip does its job better than my old Z9 ... other than that happy with unit

Used Z9 for last 2 months - experience varied from Ok - Very good
Unit came with old version software - upgraded to v3.4. (A free download from Blueant) The upgrade process was not fool proof but eventually re-flashed
The headset comes with an over the ear clip but discarded very soon as found the ear piece would fit my ear and stay there. Being a tight fit made it easy to hear clearly

Positives/Negatives
Very light (but that also exposes a potential negative)
This little sucker is one slippery unit. Have â€˜lostâ€™ various times especially if kept in pocket, being so light it seems to follow your hand, ending up on the ground (been on knees various times to pick up under parked cars etc)
Shirt Clip feature
Would suggest using the built-in shirt clip - it helps to keep the unit somewhat safe. Only say somewhat as it can be brushed and goes flying. (Less nerdy than those big units that some people use)
Call quality is very good â€“ (on the right device see below)
The ear plug unscrews â€“
â€¦ Have learnt to tighten regularly and that has solved the challenge as it would detach itself from the main body and fall off â€¦ then a search would beginâ€¦
Noise cancelling â€“have used sparingly so cannot make a fair judgement on usefulness

Summaryâ€¦
Upgraded from I-Tech headset on 02 Atom and found mixed results but to be fair was running a â€˜WM6 cooked româ€™ main disappointment was Microsoft Voice Command v1.6 UK (with Bluetooth support) would not activate commands on Atom. Upgraded to a Palm Treo 750 with Palm WM6 and had same challenge. Currently using a 02 XDA Orbit (has BT v2.0 & A2DP) running WM6.1 â€¦ and the Z9 works fine with MVC v1.6 and calls are crisp and clear

If going to purchase - Would suggest your device has Bluetooth v2.0 and/or A2DP support, while I could receive and make calls on BT v1.2 devices the Z9 would not communicate with voice programs. Be prepared to play find the Z9  â€¦ â€˜loseâ€™ it less now but it is a very light unit
