With their new 8GB Micro SD card, Sandisk is not straying away from technology's current trend : memory capacity increases, memory card sizes decrease.
I have an iMate Jasjam and just the thought of quadroopling my memory (currently has a 2GB Micro SD) card is very attractive. With an 8GB Sandisk Micro SD card that means more room for songs, word documents and pocketPC applications!
We expect to have the Sandisk 8GB Micro SD card in stock in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, if you're looking to upgrade to one of these little monsters, check with your gadget manufacturer to ensure that your device is compatible.

I never thought I could have so much fun with something so simple. Even just floating around the living room seems to be hugely entertaining. I even let the kids have a go sometimes..... - Jerome
I bought one of these for a mate who is a chopper freak. He hasn't flown for a while and was going into withdrawal. He loves it. His wife doesn't - seems it keeps him from his gardening duties!
It arrived so fast after I ordered it I thought it had flown here by itself! - Trevor
I've recently got myself a lovely Dell XPS M1330. (Yes I did put the words "lovely" and "Dell" together). Now for a notebook of this size (13inch) I don't need a huge bag/backpack/case. Rather something slim, something that I can carry under my arm to a cafe for a quick blog break and lunch :)
The Gecko Neoprene Sleeves for 13 inch laptops are perfect for this type of use. Thick neoprene skin will protect your precious gadget from scratches and bumps and can easily fit into a briefcase or backpack for extra protection.
All up a great notebook sleeve. Comes in 13", 15" and 17" versions.
Just a short post to let you Sandisk fans out there know that we now have more stock of the Sandnisk Cruzer Titanium 4GB USB Flash Drives. In a couple of words, these are some of the toughest USB drives on the market, being able to withstand approximately 1 tonne worth of pressure!

For those with an O2 XDA Flame, we now have the O2 XDA Flame Battery 2000mAh. This after-market battery is similar to the ones we have for the other PDA's on our catalogue. It fits the O2 XDA Flame and can be used as a replacement or a spare. Great for the power user. Or for those new to the PDA scene. I remember moving from a Nokia 8310 to an O2 XDA II Mini (my first PDA phone) and was astonished at how quickly the battery depleted. Because of their bigger screen and extra features, PDA's will always be more of a power hog than a standard mobile phone. So if you're not used to charging your phone regularly, make sure you have a spare battery..... just in case.
Features of the O2 XDA Flame Battery 2000mAh - 2000mAh Lithium Ion Battery - Compatible with the O2 XDA Flame - Removable to keep as a spare - Aftermarket XDA Flame battery

One thing I don't like carrying with me on a plane is a carry-on bag. However, with the gadgets we are carrying these days, it seems a carry-on bag is fast becoming essential. Especially when you carry around a laptop. That's one gadget I would never pack into my check-in luggage! The search for the perfect notebook bag is on! One such contender is the Logitech KINETIK 15.4 inch Backpack. Not only does it have room for notebooks, it also has room for those other gadgets and peripherals - chargers anyone? And as with all Logitech products, attention to functionality is not the only concern. Ergonomics is never forgotten. The KINETIK is shaped for comfort and long use. Also, thanks to its exo-shell casing, this bag keeps its shape while giving ample protection. It also stands by itself!

For the last two years I have been waiting for the proper upgrade to my 12" Compaq Presario BT1801. I wanted a notebook of similar size and specs but this time with far better battery life - on my BT1801 I only managed to squeeze a maximum of 45 minutes on the lowest brightness setting. Pathetic when trying to surf and blog on the run. At this point I would like to raise, that it was also partly my fault for not conditioning the battery early on (full drains before full charges).
Yesterday, after 4 days of submitting my order, I received my Dell XPS M1330 and it's a beauty.
In the past, I've always considered Dell laptops as "cheap and nasty" but Dell have definitely raised the bar with their newest additions to their XPS range. Trust me the leap into the Dell foray required much research, but the jump has been worth it.
Battery life on the XPS M1330? Superb! I can get around 4 hours on the 2nd lowest brightest screen setting performing browsing/blogging tasks. That's 3 hours more than my old laptop!
Here are some of specs on my beefed up Dell XPS M1330: - Intel Duo Centrino T7700 2.4GHz - 4GB RAM - Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS Video Card - 250GB HDD - 13.3" Screen - WiFi Catcher (finds wireless networks even when turned off) - 2 x USB 2.0 Ports - 1 x Mini Firewire - 1 x HDMI port - Multi-Card reader - Inbuilt Webcam - 2 x Headphone out jacks - Battery life indicator (check batt life even when turned off) - and much more
I've had many laptops to date but this one is the best one I've had to date. Read the reviews on the Dell Website and CNET.
One of my friends in a gaming forum had his broadband connection details in his signature, so I followed the link to test my own home broadband speed. The site is Speedtest.net.
I pay for a 512MB ADSL connection with Telstra so was interested to see that the download speed was way below that - I'll be on the phone asking some questions tomorrow.... See below.
What's your broadband connection speed? Run your own test at www.speedtest.net
