Microsoft is preparing their latest arsenal of mice and keyboards for the 2005 showdown with Logitech's latest G-series, consisting of G5, G7 and G15. Among the new devices, the Laser Mouse 6000 (US$60), Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 and Ergonomic 4000 Keyboard caught our attention.  The 6000, being a high-sensitivity USB mouse, is obviously targeting at the similarly-configured G5. Though, it seems to lack G5's unique 'weight cartridges' and 'gaming feet'.  The Optical Mouse 3000 (US$30) is luring lappy owners with a Nike shoe-lookalike shell in that it is encased mostly with rubber. There's also a magnification thumb button, a real bonus for users of the smaller 12" laptops out there.  Last but not least is the Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 (US$55).  I've tried at least 10 different bluetooth headsets over the last year and I must say that mobile bluetooth headsets are generally getting better. Longer battery life, vibration alert, caller-ID display and even inbuilt ringtones are fast becoming the norm. However while it seems that every Tom, Dick and Harry is trying to come up with their own bluetooth headset the only brands that I would recommend that you pay attention to are Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Jabra, Logitech, Plantronics, Motorola and Blueant - trust me don't bother with unknown brands or el cheapo headsets; you'll just be disappointed. Speaking of bluetooth headsets, I've just had the privilege of testing out the award winning, brand spanking new Blueant x3 Micro Bluetooth Headset. First of all, kudos to Blueant Australia for bringing in this very cool gadget down under! First impressions? Tiny, ultra light, chic design, blue flashing lights - I like blue flashing lights! Setup was as easy as I anticipated. Again, like with many other Blueant gadgets, I did not even need to read the manual to pair it up with my XDA IIi - I just pushed what was very obviously the power button, held the power button down together with the volume up button, waited for the blue and red lights to flash, input the pair code (1234) and wham!
