Just surfing the Net this evening when I stumbled across the new Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse and is it cool or what?!

The pictures here or on Logitech's website do not do this gadget any justice - you MUST check out the very impressive flash demo they've got on their page. I've got a link to Amazon's saved version below.

With its exceptional combination of beauty, comfort, and mobility, the Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse was built from the ground up for mobile professionals. As the new standard in notebook mice, V500 is based on four ground-breaking new technologies you simply won't find in other notebook mice.
Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse Features:
4-Way Solid State Scroll Panel
The 4-Way Scroll Panel represents nothing less than a total reinvention of the traditional scroll wheel. Simply slide your finger across the solid-state panel for hyper-responsive vertical and horizontal scrolling - perfect for viewing spreadsheets, images, and other large documents.
Expandable Chassis
The patented Expandable Chassis articulates 7 degrees to fit the hand while in use, and folds flat for travel - the perfect balance of comfort and mobility.
2.4GHz Micro-Receiver
The 2.4GHz Micro Receiver is a true enterprise-class wireless solution, providing 30-foot (10m) range with virtually no interference or latency. The Micro Receiver also fits inside the mouse for storage, completing a neat, all-in-one package. I really like this idea!
All-Terrain Optical Engine
The all-new All-Terrain Optical Engine is the highest-performance compact tracking solution available, with superior surface coverage compared to lesser notebook mice.
The Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse comes fully equipped for the road. Sculpted finger grips provide precise control. The fused aluminum skin and shock-resistant bodywork are robust yet elegantly detailed. And its integrated power management system includes a battery-saving on-off switch and status indicator.
To complete your mobile experience, just pop the receiver back in the chassis, snap it shut, and put the V500 into its protective carry case for easy transport to your next location.

o2 XDA IIi or o2 XDA IIs...which one should I upgrade to?
Ok here's my problem: I want to upgrade from my o2 XDA II but am finding it hard choosing between the new and currently available o2 XDA IIs or the up and coming o2 XDA IIi!
There are two main reasons why I want to upgrade my current o2 XDA II:
1. Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition: better display support, automatic scroll bars, auto repagination for IE, WPA support, transcriber tweaks and phone edition and Start Menu augmentation.
2. Need inbuilt WiFi: my current Sandisk WiFi SDIO card is great but it's a hassle putting it in and out all the time to swap it with my 1GB SD Card. WiFi networks are burgeoning everywhere! In November I was pleasantly surprised to find that every StarBucks in the U.S. had WiFi and even more happy to find free WiFi at Seattle's Science Centre! WiFi at San Francisco Airport was also very handy...too bad us Aussies are still behind in implementing this technology...

The o2 XDA IIs and IIi cover both of my above requirements, but do I dive in now and get the IIs? Decisions, decisions...
o2 XDA IIi has a blazing processor
Although the XDA IIs has a pull-out 39-key QWERTY keyboard and new dark groovy enclosure, the o2 XDA IIi comes with the more gruntier Intel PXA270 chip which runs at 520MHz as opposed to the 400MHz Intel Xscale PXA263 processor found under the hood of the o2 XDA IIs. I'm anticipating that this speed difference should be quite noticeable - handy for playing games like Crazy Karts, not so much Solitaire though :)
o2 XDA IIi has a better camera
The o2 XDA IIi also has a better camera on board - improved from 0.3 Mega pixels on the o2 XDA II to a whopping 1.3 Mega pixels! Wow that's almost as many Mega pixels that I had on my first Canon Digital Camera! This is great but not a huge factor in my decision on which new XDA to go for.
o2 XDA IIi can use o2 XDA II accessories
Honestly due to all the busyness of this time of year, this is my first time to seriously give this issue a couple of minutes of serious thought! It's all good because it all makes sense now, I've decided to go for the o2 XDA IIi! Despite the fact that it does not have the new stylish case it's o2 XDA IIs cousin, it does have the same enclosure (with a couple of tweaks to the camera outers) as my current o2 XDA II. This means that I can use all my current accessories without having to spend anymore! My wife will be proud of me!
o2 XDA II gadgets like:
- o2 XDA II USB Synch 'n' Charge Retractable Cable (I hope the serials ports are the same!)
- Krussell o2 XDA II Leather Case
- o2 XDA II Arkon Car Mount
- o2 XDA II Pen Stylus in One
- o2 XDA II Exim Screen Protector
Final Choice: o2 XDA IIi
So there you have it, you heard it right here! I'm going to wait for the o2 XDA IIi which is coming out in January 05 and will NOT be tempted by the funky new lines of the o2 XDA IIs! Despite the many notable improvements o2 has made with the o2 XDA IIs such as built-in WiFi, WM2003SE, improved battery life and pull-out keyboard, I will wait. I'll let you know when the o2 XDA IIi's are in!

Check out the comprehensive review of the brand-spanking new Sony Ericsson S700i by LIVEdigitally!
Here's an excerpt from the Sony Ericsson S700i Review:
"Now you might be wondering what sets this phone apart from its competition. Well first of all, it is just gorgeous. The S700i boasts an eye-catching metallic type silver finish (which thankfully doesn't scratch that easily!) and an amazing 262,000 (18 bit) active matrix TFT display. The screen resolution and glossy quality is simply stunning. The phone has one of the best 1.3 Megapixel cameras I have ever used (and I've used many). That's it for the overview. If that's not enough for you, the phone also features support for memory stick DUO and has an integrated MP3 player and FM radio. Still not enough? It has onboard 32 MB of memory and an additional 32 MB memory card is included with the package. "

Thanks for the tip Jeremy!
Ok, I get a lot of people asking what's my favourite gadget! This is an extremely difficult question to answer but this week the answer is our new USB Device Charger Battery Box with built-in flashlight! What more could any PDA owner, who hits the road quite regularly want!!

In a day and age, where PDA manufacturers either create PDAs with poor battery life out of lack of end-user participation in development or in an effort to make more money (yes I'm with you on guessing the latter), an alternative portable power source is required. One small enough (and cheap enough) to take with you on your "away-from-your-computer-trips" to re-energise your device.
We've chopped logic on this topic on the Mtekk Pocket PC Forum, and many have come up with many inventive ways of keeping their power-hungry devices juiced up, but I like this gadget!
As its name suggests, this little gadget can provide up to 5 full recharging cycles for your USB device (such as PDAs). Charging power is generated from 4 x AA batteries! (batteries not included) This is extremely practical because you can pretty much purchase AA batteries anywhere these days. Simply plug in your USB charging cable from your PDA into this USB Device Charger and watch your PDA's battery-power levels get replenished.

The USB Device Charger Battery Box comes with stabilising technology that ensures a steady 5.6V of power and prevents over charging. It also features an inbuilt ON/OFF switch that automatically stops power transfer when disconnected.

Another great feature of the USB Device Charger Battery Box is the retractable USB port cable which extends up to 10cm; when it's not in use it fits quite snuggly back into the battery box.

What completes this device is the built-in flashlight. With three bright bulbs, you'll be able to use this gadget to find your way around the dark when you're not using it to charge your USB device. Simply brilliant!!

This USB Christmas Tree actually looks like a miniaturised version of those that you would see displayed in the windows of homes during the Christmas season. The USB Christmas tree has green leaves and a wooden-look-alike pot. The beauty about this USB Christmas tree is that the leaves won't fall off and that it doesn't require a huge effort to put up or pack away - it's just a matter of finding a free USB port on your PC or notebook and then plugging it in. A great addition to the office and will definitely get people stopping by to talk about this neat USB gadget!
On a sturdy plastic base this USB powered Christmas tree will flash through a rainbow of colours(4 of them) and encourage festive spirits all day long.
It will make a great Christmas gift or decoration for yourself!
Features of the USB Christmas Tree:
- Powered by USB port found in most current PC and notebooks
- Flashing fibre optic lights : 4 colours; red, blue, purple and orange
- Compact in size: 20cm tall with 8cm diameter base
As far as we know, there is no one else in Australia selling these types of USB Christmas Trees so get yours here and get it fast before they run out! (USB Christmas Tree Product Page)

Mr.Gadget Note:
For those who don't know what USB is, it is an abbreviation of Universal Serial Bus. USB is a standard port that enables you to connect external devices (such as digital cameras, scanners, and mice) to Windows 98 and Macintosh computers. The USB 1.0 standard supports data transfer rates of 12Mbps (million bits per second), a vast improvement over the serial port standard it is beginning to replace. The USB 2.0 standard supports data transfer rates of 48MBps (40 times faster than USB 1.0 and 1.1!). Aside from speed advantages, USB devices can be connected or disconnected without the need to restart the computer. Many USB devices can work on either a Windows 98 PC or a Mac, provided the device manufacturer offers connectivity software for both computer systems. Many of the latest digital cameras offer USB as well as serial connections.
