USB 3.0 - Due out by mid next year
Imagine being able to transfer data down a USB connection at a speed of 4.8 Gbps! Today's current fastest rate is 480 Mbps which is already decent - the improvement is 10 fold. Well imagine no more, as of mid next year we should start seeing new USB 3.0 specification being rolled out.The improved data rate is a result of the addition of fibre optic technology in the USB cables. Don't worry USB 3.0 will be backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices and will also be more energy efficient.
