    The software is a bit limited in that it only works to display position on a map. It will not give turn-by-turn directions like my favourite Windows-based reference map iGuidance would do, for example.

    The other Linux app I've recently heard of but never used is RoadNav. This is a relatively new project and shows great potential. They claim support for turn-by-turn navigation, but I am not sure how this would work with third-party maps or if they are even compatible.
