Elgato EyeTV for Digital Terrestrial TV: It all ends here.

Elgato EyeTV for Digital Terrestrial TVWell, I guess this is my swansong. My last day at Mr.Gadget and I'm all choked up with the emotion of it all. Nah. Life must go on I suppose, and in less than a month, I will be finding myself in the good U.S. of A., hopefully reporting on the latest happenings stateside. But yes, this is my last blog as an employee of Mr.Gadget and I will miss racking my brains, stressing out and hitting my head against the walls in an effort to think up of something that will (hopefully) amuse you, the loyal Gadgeteer.

So as my last big product announcement, I am saving the best (and most desirable) for last. The Elgato EyeTV for Digital Terrestrial TV is the tiniest, most elegantly packaged digital TV tuner as well. Bundled with the most awesome, easy-to-use, fully featured TV software - EyeTV 2. Having seen it in action, I can say that HDTV is the future. A TV picture filling out almost all of the screen of a 17-inch Powerbook is truly something to behold. I was complaining before that PC users get the AverMedia cards while us Mac users miss out - but sorry PC people, I think we've outdone you this time. And it's only available on the Mac!

So when I move to the U.S., rather than buying a TV, I'm actually thinking of getting one of these boxes before I go, as I'll be moving around and a bulky TV will be a pain to transport. Do you, the loyal reader, think I should? Leave us some comments and I might consider getting one...

Features of the Elgato EyeTV for Digital Terrestrial TV
• Watch, record, pause and rewind live television.
• Take control of your TV schedule with the integrated online TV guide.
• Completely replace your VCR and never miss a show again.
• Receive free-to-air Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) channels.

But then again, I'll be also be going to Disneyland. I'll make sure to get myself one of these, these or these...

Order your Elgato EyeTV for Digital Terrestrial TV from Mr.Gadget today!

P.S. It's been an awesome ride, guys. I wish Mr.Gadget all the best.

    Hey Homer,

I know how you feel. I bought way too much stuff when I left last year. Go on do it!

    I'm voting for NO.

If you go over to the US, you'll want something that does ATSC. Since that's the US standard for Digital TV.
