i-Rocks IR1100 MP3 FM Transmitter - Play music from your USB Flash Drive!

iRocks IR1100 FM Transmitter Image

By pluggin' in your USB flash drive or MP3 player (or any audio source with an audio output like your PDA or CD player) into the i-Rocks IR-1100 MP3 DJ FM Transmitter and then tuning to the specified FM channel, you can immediately enjoy listening to your favourite digital music over your car stereo.

The i-Rocks MP3 DJ can read MP3 files stored in storage devices and wirelessly transmit your music onto your car stereo with digital stereo quality. There goes the need to purchase expensive MP3 car stereos or the need to keep bulky music CDs! It's simple and easy to use.

Here's a review on the i-Rocks IR-1100 FM Transmitter by one of our gadgeteers, Dennis Pleace (01/06/2005):

i-Rocks IR-1100 FM Transmitter Review

Order was received lightning fast. The I-Rocks MP3 transmitter connects to the car lighter socket. It has variable frequencies that you can tune your FM radio to that are indicated by the combination of 4 LED's Ranging from 88.1 to 107.9 Mhz.

It came with a side USB and top USB connector. The top unit you plug the USB flash card (memory stick). It has an audio plug next to it for MP3 players, I-Pods etc.

One lead has a USB plug and clip on the end. This is not explained in the documentation but is needed if the radio antenna of your car is at the back away from the player. You need to plug it into the side USB socket and it acts as a booster aerial. If not used the sound quality is very poor. If your radio antenna is at the front you don't need to use it.

The sound quality is very good.

One bad point if you use a large flash drive to store your songs( 1 gig will hold 200 to 300 songs) every time you stop and start the car the songs restart from the beginning. You can only skip forward and back one song per press it does not have a random or remember last played song feature. If you use an MP3 player the player itself will do the sorting.

It really is simple and easy to use.

received my i-Rocks FM transmitter within 2 days of ordering - worked straight away - clear stereo transmission. Beware of other similar products with only 1 or 2 transmision frequencies - i-Rocks has enough frequencies to choose from to be sure that no local station interferes with it (or when going long distances you come into an area with a local transmitter on the same frequency). Extra Antenna (provided) was not needed.
